Panciteria China @ Metrowalk

Okay, while covering the Filipino Poker Tour at the Metro Card Club in Ortigas, we had dinner at this new place called Panciteria China. At first glance, it was okay, the place was clean, well, pristine actually, so we were tempted to try out the dishes. My friends ordered the Beef Brisket Rice, Siomai and I went for the Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet.
It was okay till things started to get nasty, and when I say nasty, I mean, BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. First off, our order took ages to arrive. The food for the next table, who got there ten minutes AFTER us, arrived first. And then, when the Beef Brisket came, it was… well, to be kind, bland and nothing special. According to Dye, Chowking’s beef brisket rice tasted better. So that was Strike One… the next came when the waiter told us that they didn’t have siomai in stock, that’s after making us wait for 15 minutes for the food. Next strike came when ten minutes after the Brisket Arrived, My Fish Fillet WASN’T There yet! Blargh, When I asked for it, they had a blank look in their face, they didn’t even know what my order was, and we were pretty sure that they repeated the order when taking it down… “Sir you ordered two beef brisket rice, sweet and sour fish fillet and siomai,” I guess they kind of panicked and made the fish fillet in a rush because then it got to the table, it was piping hot, but when I bit into the fish fillet, it was still FROZEN inside.
I promptly gave back the offending rice bowl, and they made me a new one and this time, it took only FIVE minutes, as opposed to the initial 25-30 mins that they made us wait for our order the first time around. The fish wasn’t too good, I wouldn’t spend 130 pesos for that crap again, ever.
Next strike came when we asked for our bill. It came out at over 550 pesos, which in the first place, was off by more than a hundred. Quick math, 130 for the beef times two, 130 for the fish, 35 pesos for beer so that’s 425 pesos right? Right, we gave the bill back, told the waitress that the total was off. She took it back to her boss, and came back five minutes later, and the total they had? 435! OMG, how can someone own a restaurant and be that dumb in simple math? We pointed out the error and it took them a while to actually figure it out.
Now, the kicker. The owner was just there, walking around, giving orders and not really helping out. Geebus…
Well friends, Stay away from this place like the PLAGUE, no amount of cajoling will ever make me eat there again, EVER.
The complete address of the place is Panciteria China, Metrowalk, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City.
Again, STAY AWAY!
